Welcome to Full House Literary!

Thank you for your interest in submitting with us. Whether you are submitting to our general submissions or our games room submissions, we welcome bold, vibrant, and creative voices.

Check out our past issues to see what sort of work we are looking for. We are a welcoming, safe, and positive environment for both writers and readers, so please make sure your work adheres to our guidelines.

We accept poetry, prose (microfiction, flash fiction), art, photography, and hybrid work. We love to shine a light on writers who take risks with their work or represent new voices we've not seen before. So take a chance! Roll the dice and send us something playful, something experimental, something only you could have made.

We can't wait to see what you have for us!

Our next general submission windows:

Art and photography: always open

Poetry: March only

Prose (flash fiction and microfiction): April only

Hybrid: March & April

Please make sure you read our full guidelines here.

Guideline summary:

  • You may submit 1 piece per category at any one time.
  • We do not accept previously published pieces. This includes pieces that are currently published in another journal or magazine or book or on social media or blogs.
  • Submit text work in .docx or PDF format.
  • Size 12 & Times New Roman (or equivalent) font unless you are submitting an experimental piece where a different font is vital to the work.
  • Simultaneous subs are fine on the condition you must let us know ASAP if your submission is accepted elsewhere. Please withdraw using the withdraw button in Submittable.
  • Visual art, images, and photography: submit a single image in the highest resolution possible and include a brief description of the piece for readers who use audio descriptions and alt-txt.
  • Poetry word count: up to 40 lines per poem (not including vertical white space).
  • Prose (microfiction, flash fiction) up to 1000 words (250-500 words preferred).
  • Hybrid work: a combination of prose or poetry with art, images or photography.
  • The work must be your own.
  • We love experimental work and pieces that engage with all forms of technology. Just as you would provide a reference for the original source with a blackout poem, if you use AI to create a piece of work, please reference this somewhere in the document. The pieces we love are pieces that use language unique to the writer's experience of the world so if you've used ChatGPT to create a piece made from millions of others, we probably aren't the right place to send it.

The games room submissions:
